CUTTING SERVICES WAIVER

​Rocks are natural materials and are not free of flaws. Many stones contain pre-existing fractures or weaknesses that may cause them to break during the cutting process. While we take every precaution to minimize this risk, we cannot control how a stone will respond to cutting. Should breakage occur, all resulting pieces will be returned to you.

Please note the following:

• Cut Faces: The cut surfaces are not polished; polishing is not included in the cutting service.

• Hand Cutting for Small Rocks: Smaller rocks may require hand cutting, which may result in less precise cuts.

• Material Loss: Cutting stones inherently involves a loss of material due to the width of the saw blade (kerf). This material cannot be recovered and may reduce the weight of your rock.

• Water Saws: We exclusively use water saws, ensuring no oil contamination of your rocks. However, some natural color variations may still be accentuated or revealed during the process due to the exposure of internal material.

POLISHING SERVICES WAIVER

Every stone is unique, with its own composition, hardness, and natural characteristics. These factors greatly influence how well a stone can achieve a polished finish. While we strive for excellence, please understand the following conditions of our polishing service:

• Variable Shine: Not all stones will polish to a high shine. Some minerals naturally have a softer, less reflective surface, and others may retain a matte or satin finish despite our best efforts.

• Tiny Scratches: Polishing is a meticulous process, but certain stones are more prone to retaining fine scratches. While we do everything possible to minimize these imperfections, some minerals make it nearly impossible to achieve a completely flawless surface.

• Material Loss: Polishing involves grinding and smoothing the surface of the stone, which can result in minor material loss.

• Natural Inclusions and Flaws: Internal features like inclusions, fractures, or uneven mineral compositions may become more pronounced after polishing and are beyond our control.

By using our polishing services, you acknowledge and accept these limitations. If you have specific concerns or goals for your stone, feel free to discuss them with us beforehand, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request!

CABOCHON(S) SERVICES WAIVER

Creating cabochons is an art that works with the natural characteristics of each stone. While we take great care to craft beautiful cabochons, there are inherent challenges due to the unique nature of every rock. Please read and acknowledge the following:

• Material Variability: Each stone is different, and not all materials behave the same during cutting, shaping, and polishing. Some stones may not achieve a perfectly smooth or shiny finish due to their mineral composition or natural inclusions.

• Inclusions and Fractures: Natural flaws, fractures, or inclusions in the stone may affect the appearance or durability of the final cabochon. We aim to preserve the integrity of your stone, but these features are part of its unique character.

• Surface Imperfections: While we strive to remove scratches and imperfections, some stones are more challenging to polish to a flawless surface. Tiny scratches or matte areas may remain, especially in softer or more delicate minerals.

• Material Loss: Shaping cabochons requires grinding and refining, which will result in some material loss. This is necessary to achieve the desired size and shape.

• Size Precision: For calibrated cabochons, we do our best to meet the exact measurements requested. However, minor variations may occur due to the natural challenges of working with stone.
